The CIEE study center is the nation’s leader in producing high-quality international study abroad and exchange programs.  As a summer study abroad student, you will explore Spanish and Latin American history, art, literature, architecture, culture and social challenges.  Courses are offered in both English and Spanish.  All CIEE faculties are familiar with the U.S. academic system and culture.  In addition to learning in Seville, summer students will also take part in a three-day Intercultural Comparative Experience.  This experience gives students the opportunity to travel with fellow CIEE students and learn about another city's history, art, and culture.  Additionally, CIEE offers exciting excursions that will highlight topics discussed in classes.  Each intercultural experience will help expand your global perspective and sharpen your cultural awareness.

What better way to really know what life is like in Spain, then to live with a Spanish family!?  Homestays are the ideal and the preferred environment for building relationships.  Homestays are also a great opportunity for meaningful cultural exchange.  Nevertheless, student residence halls are another viable option.  Students may have their own room or may share their room and/or homestay with another CIEE student, depending on availability.  Housing, 3 meals per day, internet and weekly laundry/cleaning are included for students living in homestay or student residence halls.

For students interested in gaining Spanish language skills prior to going abroad, please consider taking Spanish classes at SMC. For more information click HERE
